Community Training

Friday, October 28, 2022: Free Introduction to Linux Class for Osborn community members given at the Osborn Business Center:

In September of 2022, Belief Emadamerho invited Linux instructor Rex Djere to give a free "Introduction to Linux" class to members of Detroit's Osborn community. Linux is a completely free and completely open-source computer operating system that was created by Finnish-American computer scientist Linus Torvalds in 1991.

Linux powers the computers in data-centers owned by world famous companies such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, and many more.

The class was held on Friday, October 28, 2022, and 7 members of the Osborn Community received highly valuble and empowering training to help them to start their Linux journey. Linux professionals are in high demand in many industries, so the long-term vision of providing such training is to help members of Detroit's Osborn community to transition into high-paying jobs as Linux professionals.
